Wheels up in Hannover, wheels down in LA — the start of a 2,500-mile ride through the American West.
Home base for picking up the bikes and packing the saddlebags before hitting the road — thanks to our friends Tom and Donna, who opened their home to us. We've known them since 2009, and their hospitality is what kicks off this trip every time.
High-desert riding out to the old-West town of Pioneertown, north of Palm Springs.
Up into the Sierra Nevada for granite cliffs, alpine air, and a night at Yosemite's historic Ahwahnee.
Down from the mountains to the bay, with fog, hills, and city nights at Fisherman's Wharf.
South along the coast to the storybook streets of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Continuing down Highway 1 and into the American Riviera — Santa Barbara's harbor and backcountry roads.
Back to the LA coastline, ending the Pacific stretch at the historic Georgian Hotel on the beach.
East across the desert for neon lights, fountains, and a well-earned rest at the Bellagio.
South along the Colorado River to Lake Havasu on the Arizona border, before turning back toward LA.
Bikes returned, boots off, and a long flight home with 2,500 miles of memories.
